ICC begins Inquiry Into ‘Crimes’ Dedicated Throughout #EndSARS Protests
The Worldwide Legal Courtroom (ICC) says it has commenced preliminary examination into the current #EndSARS protests in Nigeria.
In keeping with BBC, the workplace of the ICC Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, stated it has obtained data on alleged crimes.
It provides that the examination will “assess whether or not the authorized standards for opening an investigation below the Rome Statute are met.”
#EndSARS protesters in October took to the streets throughout the nation to protest police brutality and high-handedness of the Particular Anti-Theft Squad (SARS), a unit of the Nigeria Police Pressure (NPF)
In response to the protests, the Inspector-Normal of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu introduced the dissolution of SARS unit and their alternative with Particular Weapons and Techniques Unit (SWAT).
The ICC says it might make findings of the preliminary examination public.
