CCB summons Magu, calls for paperwork of his property
The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has requested Ibrahim Magu, suspended performing chairman of the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC), to seem earlier than it on Tuesday.
The CCB invitation comes at a time Magu is being investigated by a presidential panel over alleged misappropriation of recovered property underneath his watch as head of the anti-graft company.
In a letter dated November 2, 2020, and signed by SP Gwimi, CCB’s director of intelligence, investigation and monitoring, Magu was requested to come back together with paperwork of his property.
“The Bureau is investigating a case of alleged breach of Code of Conduct for Public Officer towards Mr. Ibrahim Mustapha Magu, the previous Performing Chairman, Financial & Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC),” the letter learn.
“In view of the foregoing, you’re invited for an interview scheduled as follows: Date: Tuesday 17 November, 2020. Instances 11am Immediate. “Venue: CCB Interview Room, 5 Flooring, Annex 3, Federal Secretariat Advanced, Shehu Shagari Manner, Maitama Abuja.
“You might be anticipated to come back together with the Licensed True Copies (CTC) of the next:
“Acknowledgement slips of all of your property declaration to the Code of Conduct Bureau because you joined public service.
“Copies of your Appointment Letter, Acceptance, Information of Service and Pay Slips from January to Could, 2020.
“All paperwork of your landed properties, each developed and undeveloped.
“The invitation is made pursuant to the mandate and energy of the Bureau as enshrined within the 3 Schedule, Half 1, Paragraph 3 (e) to the 1999 Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended; Part 137 (a) and (b) and 138 (a) and (b) of Penal Code Legal guidelines of the Federation of Nigeria 1990 and Part 104 of proof Act 2011.”
In July, TheCable had reported that the CCB was making ready expenses towards Magu.
A supply had informed TheCable that Magu could be arraigned on the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), which handles the circumstances of public officers who fail to declare their property.
His lawyer has denied the allegation that he didn’t declare his property.
The panel probing Magu requested President Muhammadu Buhari to fireplace and prosecute him for corruption.
