INEC declares APC’s Abiru winner of Lagos East senatorial bye-election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Tokunbo Abiru, has emerged victorious within the Lagos East senatorial bye-election performed within the state on Saturday.

 

The Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee introduced that Abiru obtained a complete of 89,204 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Babatunde Gbadamosi of the Peoples Democratic Social gathering.

Gbadamosi secured a complete of 11,257 votes to emerge second.

Abiru received in all of the 5 native authorities areas within the senatorial district.

Candidates from 12 political events are contesting within the Lagos East Senatorial bye-elections whereas eight candidates are contesting the Kosofe Constituency II, Lagos State Home of Meeting by-elections.

The contestants for the senatorial election are Muyiwa Adebanjo, Motion Alliance; Ms Mercy Adeoye, African Motion Congress, and John Kome, African Democratic Congress.

Others are Adebowale Ogunlaru, Motion Democratic Social gathering; Adetokunbo Abiru, All Progressives Congress; Olusola Babatope, Allied Peoples Motion; Mrs Florence Trautman, Labour Social gathering; and Ms Adijat Lawal, New Nigeria Peoples Social gathering.

In addition they embody Babatunde Gbadamosi, Peoples Democratic Social gathering; Akin Olukunle, Nationwide Rescue Motion; Saheed Aluko, Social Democratic Social gathering and Taiwo Temitope, Younger Progressive Social gathering.

The eight contestants for the Kosofe Constituency II bye-election are John Akerele, AA; Sadiq Olawale, AAC; Wasiu Saheed, APC; Adekunle Oladapo, LP; Muyideen Agoro, NNPP; Ademorin Adelaja, NRM; Sikiru Alebiosu, PDP and Mrs Mary Abojeh, ADC.

The 2 bye-elections grew to become crucial following the demise of the previous occupants who have been members of APC.
