A 24-year-old pregnant girl, Mariam Musa, has been arrested in Ede, Osun State for allegedly poisoning her three-year-old stepson, Rokeeb Musa.

The incident occurred on December 26, 2020.

Mariam instructed Newsmen that she killed the toddler out of jealousy, saying their husband; Musa, beloved the son greater than her daughter.

The lady, who’s the primary spouse of the husband, additional confessed that she poisoned the boy with a pesticide (Rocket).

“I used to be sleeping inside my room when the boy got here to me and I gave him the insecticide to drink. My husband was exhibiting love and favour to the second spouse.

“I learnt style designing earlier than I turned a pap vendor as a result of the enterprise was not transferring. My husband arrived on the night of my commencement as a licensed designer and spent N70 however he spent lots through the second spouse’s commencement as a hairdresser.

“My husband purchased plasma and cable tv for the second spouse whereas I’ve no tv in my room. The second spouse has been placing up some humorous attitudes. She doesn’t reply if I greet her, even once I was sick, she didn’t ask after my well being,” she added.

After the demise of the boy, Mariam mentioned she confessed the crime to her husband attributable to her conscience.
